Advice and Aphorisms

A bunch of cheesy things I told myself once.

I was using a method called “Divine Clarity and Inspired Action” from Maria Seraphina. So, what came out isn’t what I’d say is my every-day writing. I used to think about advice and aphorisms, but lately I write quick little poems that fill up a page or two. But they’re rarely this short, even if they do sway toward self-care advice sometimes.

Does one jump out at you?

It’s time to learn a language.

You have time to learn something new every year.

Follow that feeling of being lost in time.

You don’t have to be perfect.

Why don’t you start?

Don’t apologize for the way you want to live your life.

Stop chasing $quirrels.

Write, blog, share, photograph.

Be kind when you teach. Patient when you explain.

Forgive people who think differently.

Give to people with you expectation of getting it back.

You have books in you. Let them out.

You do not need to let people push you around to feel you belong.

You have time for the things you love.
There is no wrong way, except for not doing it at all.

Energy is real.

Follow love. Wonder. Joy.

Let people love you.

To help people, you have to be happy, confident, and SHARE.

Don’t be afraid to try new things. You might fail, but you’ll be different.

Fuck hiding (or playing it safe).

We can do a few things at once, but we’ll be better if we focus.

If you had a few years left, how would you spend that time? You don’t need death looming to live.

Other peoples’ way may not be your way.

Trust your gut. Follow your heart. Feed your soul.

You have the eye. You have the ear. You have the soul.

Simplify to a place where you feel comfortable. (You can keep your record collection)

Every dollar is a vote.
Buy quality and take care of your things.

Don’t get distracted by money, but don’t ignore it.

Hey, you can’t take it with you.

Give give give. *But never to the point of pain.

Write books. Write every day.
